Overview

Bike touring through Europe, family trips, or traveling around the globe? No problem with Ortlieb’s new XL-sized Back-Roller Pro bike panniers. A total volume of 70 L (4272 cu. in) per pair makes them the largest waterproof panniers available on the market. At the same time, they provide an optimal volume to weight ratio. The reliable roll closure ensures that gear stays dry and clean. An interior pocket helps keep things organized and at hand. Even faster access and additional storage are provided by the outer pocket (8 L/ 488 cu.in.) which is also convenient for storing wet gear.

Thanks to the convenient QL2.1 mounting system with automatically locking hooks, the panniers can be quickly and easily mounted to almost any rack. The mounting system is adjustable without requiring any tools and is suitable for racks with tube diameters up to 16 mm (hook inserts for diameters of 8, 10, and 12 mm included). The hook rail on the lower rear side of the pannier that serves for additional fixation is made of a two-component synthetic combination with an anti-scratch function. This reduces abrasions on the carrier. Thanks to the rotatable QL2.1 mounting hook the system is compatible with almost any bike rack.

    • Features of both Upper & Lower Mounting
      • Manufactured from a fiber-reinforced high-tech, anti-scratch thermoplastic that is extremely strong and durable, and in many tests can be stronger than metal parts.
      • Fits rack rails from 8mm to 16mm diameter.

    • Upper Mounting
      • The hook positions are easily adjusted without tools for optimal placement on the rack’s upper rails.
        • More forward placement is better for weight distribution, but rearward positions may be necessary for heal clearance.
      • Quick-lock hooks open automatically by lifting the pannier handles for easy one-handed removal.
      • Includes anti-scratch hook inserts for 8mm, 10mm and 12mm rails.
    • Lower Mounting
      • The semi-elliptical shape of the lower hook rail allows for optimal positioning for secure and easy attachment.
      • The lower hook position along the rail and orientation (in 15 deg steps) is easily adjusted without tools.
      • An additional lower mounting hook can be added on for extra security of the panniers in rough conditions.

    • Highly rated tear and abrasion resistance.
    • Use of high frequency welding to meet the highest of waterproofing specifications.
    • As compared to the “Classic” PD620 fabric, it is lighter in weight and more flexible especially in cold weather, yet it is still very tough.
    • Not as easy to clean as the “Classic” PD620 fabric.
    • Highly durable, polyurethane waterproof inner layer.
  • Roll-Top Closure
    • Simple, effective and highly versatile means of protecting contents against dust and spray water from all directions.
    • The roll closure gains it’s stability and waterproof quality from the thin plastic stiffener bars sewn into the upper end of the material.
    • Height or volume of packed bags can also be reduced by rolling up the material further.
  • Dust & Water Proofness Rating: IP 64
    • 6 = Dust proof, no penetration of dust.
    • 4 = Protected against splash water coming from all directions.
  • Includes two shoulder straps for carrying the panniers off of the bicycle.
  • Highly reflective 3M Scotchlite patches on front and rear of pannier.
