10.3 total per day on avg, depending on my route
In addition to commuting I generally put in 30-50 more miles per week, usually on the weekend.
Q – Is it hilly?
Lightly rolling, 1 pretty big hill each direction

Q – And finally, how much weight have you lost?
I began dieting at 350 pounds, and lost 50 pounds on a very low cal diet. I’ve lost 50 more pounds with 2000-3000 calories a day plus cycling. My goal for 2006 is to lose 50 more, to get under 200 pounds for the first time in 16 years.
Q – Have you used a diet to go with your commuting or have you just been commuting and not worrying about a diet?
Cycling is the biggest reason I lost weight. It was a major motivation for me to lose the first 50. It has definitely helped me lose another 50+. I am a vegetarian, but I struggle with a hefty appetite. When I’m eating right, I eat 50% raw fruit and veggies in my daily diet, and for the rest I try to stay away from white flour foods, deep fried foods, and sweets.
