High quality and quick delivery
This rack needed a small modification to fit my 2020 Surly Pugsley, but only because everything on this bike model is so heavily offset. I had to file a shallow notch in the lower mounting plate to clear the fender attachment points on the Surleys' dropouts, a minor tweak that hasn't affected the integrity of this very, very sturdy rack. Unless you also own a (new) Surley Pugsley I suspect you'll not have to worry about this, however. Everything else fit like a glove during installation. Once attached the rack became an extension of the frame. I have little doubt that this rack could carry the rated +57 pounds. I am using Ortlieb's Gravel Panniers, and they attach to this rack like they were made for it. Being somewhat smaller in size The Ortlieb Gravel Bags can be attached to either of the rack's horizontal bars thanks to the symmetry of the rack's design. So far, I've been unable to load enough weight into the panniers to stress the rack; including a tent; sleeping bag; and additional water on top. Three days of heavily washboarded roads in Central Oregon so far--no issues. In fact, as well made as the Ortlieb bags may be, they will fail long before anything on this rack breaks. Personally. I find the simplicity of the design rather attractive. It's made of steel (like the Surley) and the powder-coated paint looks to be pretty durable so far. I'm very happy with this purchase and I'm liking Campfire Cycling, too. Thanks guys.
I installed the Tubas rack with no issues. My ICT is looking great! I have not tried it out yet because it is late in the season and I am recovering from Arthroscopic Rotator Cuff repair. So, I got lots of plans for the Spring and Summer once I am better! Then I can give you a better review but I am sure I won’t be disappointed. I have used Tubas and Revelate before with no issues. Thanks, Kevin
