Overview

Another popular biking trail in the Midwest, another Teravail tire name. The Honcho is a solid XC and trail tire that can manage the occasional heavy-duty mountain riding and then some. This is a tire that lives up to its name and we have a feeling it will leave you yelling “Estos neumáticos son increíbles!!” as you tear down rugged backcountries.

The Honcho is available in 27.5″ or 29″ sizes with 2.4” or 2.6” width options designed around a minimum inner rim width of 24mm and 29mm. As usual, they come in either ‘light and supple’ or ‘durable’ casings. The tread pattern is a more rugged version of what is on Teravail’s other trail tire: the Ehline and features a peppering of 4mm-tall, aggressive center lugs that are densely spaced, allowing the tire to tackle loose, rocky, and rooty terrain without issue.

Teravail describes the Honcho as a “high-performance all-around trail tire” and that is spot on. These tires are geared toward maximum traction in loose and uneven terrain and they offer a bite that a dentist would be proud of. We have been left searching for the limits of these XC-oriented tires and think you will too.
