Everything went smoothly. The rack was shipped promptly. I’ll order from Campfire again.

Quick shipping, rack is a rack

Campfire Cycling shipped this item quick. The rack itself is great. I do somewhat resent Surly for the cost of their proprietary rack, not to mention the fact that you’ll be hard pressed to fit anything but a Surly rack on your Surly bike. I tried two other porteur racks (Specialized Pizza Rack and the Origin8 Classique Cargo), but neither would fit without modifications (i.e. purchasing unspecific hardware from Lowes, or physically bending the rack arms). By the way, all of these racks take some patience to build - that and a pint.

Very Impressed

I bought the wrong item; the Surly front rack when what I really needed was the 24-pack. The customer service was responsive and helpful and even tried to recall the shipment when I realized my mistake before the front rack even arrived. I’m very new to biking in general and trying to turn myself into bike packer at 51 after being quarantined in my studio apartment alone for a year is no small feat. I appreciate the blog posts and the carefully curated merchandise offerings. There’s a lot to learn and a lot of products and getting geared up plus the new Surly bridge club outfitted is expensive and I have hot info over load several times. I admit I some times visit the shop just to compare what these guys consider to be tried and true gear, even if I bit somewhere else. But I will definitely buy from those site again. But I did join the Adventure Bicycling Association, so now in working with two well curated, inspiring enthusiasts sites. Thanks tho. Really.

Great for hauling, well whatever you need to haul

This rack is giant and solid. Hauled a case of beer, a box of cat litter, various bags of groceries--no problems holding any of that. Some recommendations: Buy a bungee net to accompany it. Watch Surly's installation video--the rack comes with a few extra brackets to accommodate different set ups so the video is nice for figuring out which one to go with for you ride. Consider buying (or making) a flat platform. I get a little nervous about straps and what not falling through the rack into the front wheel so I made a little wooden platform.
