The Saltyroll is a dry bag that opens on both ends. But, it’s really more than that. The sewn daisy chain is convenient for strapping onto existing vertical or horizontal lashing points or using straps to fasten in places like above your handlebars. The strapping also lines up with the Revelate Designs “soft” Harness system.

Overview

The Saltyroll is a dry bag that opens on both ends. But, it’s really more than that. The sewn daisy chain is convenient for strapping onto existing vertical or horizontal lashing points or using straps to fasten in places like above your handlebars.

The strapping also lines up with the Revelate Designs The Harness. It’s ideal dimensions make it well suited for smaller shelters and bivvies, or compact sleeping systems. A lightweight 3 season bag and single wall tent/tarp should fit, but you may want to use compression sacks inside.

Should you need access to smaller items, just pack ’em near the ends for easy access. No need to pull everything out to get at gear on the bottom. This is a really versatile bag, especially when used in conjunction with other pieces of the Revelate system.

Bear in mind that the 200 denier fabric is not rated for constant abrasion like moving brake levers and gear shifters.

Revelate Designs Saltyroll Dry Bag

I wasn't sure about this bag but after using it for a couple of weeks I'm sold. It really is completely waterproof so no need to rebag things like your sleeping bag.. It is longer and thin so you have plenty of room left in the Sling to add tent poles, fishing rod, you name it, plus it plays really nice with Revelate Designs large pocket outside the Sling.

Every-thing fits together like it is designed too.

Bite the bullet and buy the bag, you won't be disappointed.On-e tip for stuffing...it's a little sticky on the inside when new and gets better fast. Since you can detach this bag it is way easier to stuff than the Sweet Roll system. Open both ends and pull your sleeping bag through, now stuff the bulk in one end and then compact from the other side with another item. Work with the roll closures, make them neat.

Once it is strapped on you can rip, it rides really nicely and stays put.

IMHO, -bill
