Overview
The new L & XL (larger/extra clearance) versions of the already amazing Ortlieb Quick-Rack are finally here!!! If you don’t already know about this rear rack system, you should- there’s a reason this rack already has only 5-star reviews on our site! An amazing feat of German engineering that can turn almost any bike into a well equipped cargo machine- and back into a sleek, non-cargo racing machine in less than 15 seconds (once you install the mounts).
I have been using this rack in the Standard version for about a year, and paired with the QL3 mount system on the Gravel-Pack, I have hauled everything from my child, gear for a 3 night outing, and cases of carbonated beverages and the ice to keep them cool! FYI- since Ortlieb bags are fully waterproof, they function wonderfully as impromptu ice chests. These racks are safely rated to 20kg, and are completely solid and silent, even on eyeball-rattling washboard. No rack eyelets? No problem. There is an optional Seat Stay Adapter, or Thru-Axle for getting your bike racked! You can even use the same rack on multiple different bikes once you have mounting points on them!
