Kona Honzo ESD

Overview

The Radical Slacker – we initially built the Honzo ESD as a test case for the long and low geometry we were developing for the Process X. Most hardtails tend to be somewhat conservative in their geometry. The Honzo ESD is anything but that. Its cromoly steel frame features a head and seat angle that would be right at home on a modern long travel full suspension bike. Wrapped around a 150mm fork, 4-piston brakes front and rear, shod with meaty Maxxis rubber and featuring a headtube badge may or may not open up the gates to The Underworld, the Honzo ESD is an exercise in barely restrained aggression.

Good with issues.

I’ll be honest I don’t have much time logged on the bike. I don’t live close to any parks, so I basically gave it a basic test drive once I installed the pedals. The purchasing of the bike and the shipping was very seamless, however the issue I have was that the bike came with several scuff marks and one paint chip on the frame. The box arrived intact with no damage, so I am left to assume that it was caused by the assembler that assembled my bike at Campfire. Besides the scuff marks and paint chip on the frame, the bike looks awesome and seems to work great! I did reach out to Campfire and they did give me a $100 credit for the cosmetic issues. So overall I am satisfied with the product.
