In Copenhagen, the first pedal-powered Christmas tree has made an appearance just in time for the upcoming U.N. Climate Conference in Copenhagen.
According to the report in this video, this tree is the greenest tree ever. Well, based on the equipment needed to power the lights, the bikes, etc. I find that hard to believe. A tree in the ground is greener, no? Ok, but in all seriousness, this is a very cool idea. Big props to Copenhagen.
Maybe NYC – what with the recent boom in cycling – will be inspired to power the tree in Rockefeller Center and the crazy holiday display at Saks 5th Ave., among others by bicycle, as well.
