Woodstock 505-First Impression

Our new Partner Woodstock Bikes sent us the 505 to review.
After opening the box I was pleasantly surprised to see that the bike came with a sweet pair of Shimano M520 Clipless Pedals, SPD cleats for my shoes, Allen wrenches that I needed to assemble the bike, relfectors, all the manuals and finally what blew me away was that they even included a pedal wrench.

Awesome looking bike. I couldn’t beleive that you get so many choice components on a bike that retails for $640.00.

If you visit their comparison page, it shows you how the 505 can save you hundreds of dollars. Just because the juggernauts of the industry slaps their name on a comparable bike, they expect you to pay up to $900 for one.

Another thing you can consider is that right now, they are offering FREE SHIPPING! Dude that saves you at least $40! Plus if you’re not a resident of Georgia, you don’t have to pay for taxes! One more thing, if you’re not satisfied with your bike, you can return it! It’s all part of their “No Questions Asked” 30 Day return policy.

Seriously, the parts on this bike are typically found on more expensive bikes. For example, the fork. It’s a Manitou Axel! Its not some cheap fork. It’s actually an air fork, meaning you can adjust your ride by pumping air into the shock. Heck it even has a lockout, perfect for climbing.

Then it has a combination of SRAM and Shimano drive train components that make shifting and riding so much easier.

I do have to give props to the folks at Woodstock. After I assembled the bike, I didn’t have to adjust the derailleurs or anything else. The fact that the bike came in perfect condition, ridable, makes me think that they know what they’re doing and that they care for their product.

Last but not least, I love the color scheme! I’ve read a few postings on MTBR that commented that they didn’t like the colors. But since blue is my favorite color, I automatically fell in love with it!
