Product Tested:

Kinetic By Kurt Road Machine

First Impressions and Comments:

After opening the box my initial thought was….”WOW!” This trainer is built well. I’m no welder or anything, but the welds, and over all construction of the trainer is very impressive. The welds appear to be strong and sturdy and the flywheel is beautiful.

The initial test on the trainer was a good experience. Set up took minutes and they even provided me a special skewer if my OEM one didn’t fit the trainer. But there was no need for that. I simply tried out the Ibex Trophy 770 then my Giant Cypress LE (which doesn’t use QR), Fezzari Wiki Peak and  then the Ibex Corrida. None of those bikes had any problems mounting onto the Road Machine.

  6. Crash replacement policy for a lifetime of use
  7. Compatible with all bikes with 16″ – 29″ diameter wheels
  8. The most important aspect of the trainer….IT IS VERY STABLE!

Weaknesses:

  1. Nada
  2. Zero
  3. Zilch
  4. Nothing

Summary:

I think the Kinetic Road Machine By Kurt is absolutely brilliant! I couldn’t believe how stable this thing was. I gave it a good work out over and over again. I would even pump hard during the Spinnerval DVD workouts and it was stable. I did fall off the bike and trainer one time, but that was user error, I didn’t tighten the mounts and during a sprint session, BAM! I fell off and into the couch.

But regardless of my irresponsibility, the Road Machine is a piece of genuine Americana ingenuity! I fell in love with the trainer and I am very VERY VERY confident that you will too. In fact, I give credit to the Road Machine for assisting me with my weight loss. During the 3 weeks of testing the product, I actually lost 7lbs and I certainly feel the difference when I am out on the road or the trail. I am much faster and I can tolerate lactic acid build ups much longer than before.

Would I recommend it?

YES! I really like this machine. I seriously think if you are in the market for an indoor trainer, you need to highly consider the Kinetic Road Machine by Kurt, you will not be disappointed! You know another great thing about this trainer, it folds up so you can take it with you to warm up with at the velodrome or the trail right before a race.
