Salsa EXP Anything Cradle on Road Bike

Pros: High quality, simple to install, generous clearance for cables, very stable even on rough terrain Cons: Because I ride a road bike the dry bag that I use in the cradle interferes with the gear shifting paddles. There may be solutions: wider, flared bars but I don't want these for normal (non bikepacking) riding. Also, handlebars are expensive & a hassle to change. I could change to friction shifters. I could try & buy a better shaped bag - my dry bag has clumsy closures at both ends. Salsa sell a couple of options but they seem to me to be very expensive. A secondary issue which I haven't given much thought to is how to mount my front light (the GPS is fine)
