Started in 1866 in England, Brooks Saddles was originally a maker of leather goods for horse and carriage, but his experience riding an uncomfortable wooden bicycle saddle inspired John Boultbee Brooks to shift focus and create a leather saddle that sought to end cycling discomfort. Over the years, Brooks saddles became known mostly for their comfortable and durable leather saddles, cycling bags and bar tapes.
