As part of the Sky Islands Adventure Ride series we have a responsibility to take care of the land and spaces we ride on as well as get to know the history. We believe it is super important to get involved and support the groups that organize and advocate for the spaces and beautiful land we have the privilege of enjoying.

Sarah has organized these amazing groups to do a panel discussion led by Sarah Swallow and Rodrigo Sierra-Corona with presentations from each organization as well as some time for Questions and Answers. We recommend checking them out and sending them some extra donations and getting involved:

Patagonia Area Resource Alliance: Patagonia Area Resource Alliance (PARA) is a grassroots, community-driven nonprofit dedicated to the preservation and protection of local mountains, wildlife, and watersheds in and around Patagonia, AZ. No More Deaths: The mission of No More Deaths is to end death and suffering in the Mexico–US borderlands through civil initiative: people of conscience working openly and in community to uphold fundamental human rights. Our work embraces the Faith-Based Principles for Immigration Reform and focuses on the following themes: Direct aid that extends the right to provide humanitarian assistance, Witnessing and responding, consciousness raising, Global movement building, Encouraging humane immigration policy

Sky Islands Alliance: Our mission is to protect and restore the diversity of life and lands in the Sky Island region of the U.S. and Mexico. We’re working to ensure the Sky Islands are a place where nature thrives, open space and clean water are available to all, and people are connected to the region and its innate ability to enrich our lives.
