SOLD OUT – Joe Cruz is Bikepacking through Geography, Culture, and History

January 25, 2022 @ 7:00 pm 9:00 pm

Joe Cruz has been bikepacking for over 30 years and has traveled the world over including a year-long trip in Asia, seven months in the Andes, and spans in Alaska, Egypt, Bosnia, and much of Europe. Join us as he shares images and stories from his travels at the human, reflective pace of bicycling. He will talk about the unique openness and positive vulnerability to nature and place that defines bicycle travel.

Joe is an expedition rider for SRAM, Seven Cycles and Revelate Designs, and he is on the editorial team at bikepacking.com where he’s created well known routes like The Green Mountain Gravel Growler, Ruta Chingaza and the Tian Shan Traverse used as the basis for the Silk Road Mountain Race. He earned his PhD from the University of Arizona in 1999 and is professor of philosophy at Williams College.

Join us at our neighbor Borderland’s patio on Tuesday, Jan 25th. Check in at Campfire Cycling opens at 6:30PM

There will be well spaced out, outdoor seats and tables for 75 guests. Check in and wrist band pickup will be down the block at Campfire Cycling.

We ask everyone to wear a mask when checking in at Campfire. Also, when walking around, buying drinks and food and mingling at Borderland’s patio, before and after Joe’s talk, please wear your mask. When seated at your table, you are welcome to take your mask off.

Please come prepared for a chilly evening. That said, Borderlands will have some heaters and fire pits dispersed around the patio.

Borderlands will have their kitchen and bar open. They are generously supporting us with the use of their patio. Please support them!

Thank you! And we look forward to having you out for this very special evening with Joe Cruz.
