We are currently in development of a bikepacking gear library scheduled to launch in early 2023. The mission of the library is to provide access to bikepacking gear for underserved communities of Tucson.
Initially access to the bikepacking gear library will be available to FUGA members. Currently while we are developing our bikepacking gear library, we are also running a bikepacking leadership training program for the leaders of FUGA.
After the initial launch of our bikepacking gear library, we will be partnering with additional nonprofits to allow access. We will then begin accepting members directly.
The bikepacking gear library is being launched with funding support from a community project grant by QBP. Additionally, Arizona bicycle company State Bicycle Co. has provided bicycles for the library and we are currently seeking discounts and donations from other gear manufacturers.
Our bikepacking gear library will include bikepacking bags, camping equipment, bicycles and other gear commonly utilized in bikepacking. The gear selection will be made up of sturdy, user-friendly gear that is helpful for beginner to advanced level bikepackers.
To fund the ongoing running, maintenance and growth of this program we will be seeking a variety of funding sources including:
- Fundraising Events
- Proceeds from Campfire Cycling Events
- Seeking Gear Donations from Manufacturers
- Seeking Gear Donations from Individuals
- Seeking Additional Grants
- Membership Fees
While this program exists within Campfire Cycling, a for profit business, the goal of this program will not be to generate a profit, but rather to run sustainably and return any profits generated to improving and expanding the program.
If you would like to support the program now, please donate below. Additionally, we welcome you to join one of our upcoming bikepacking events whose proceeds support the bikepacking gear library.
***We will be updating this page as the bikepacking gear library gets underway.
